This spectacular heavy chronometer belongs to a series of approximately 22 pieces manufactured over a period of 40 years. today 11 pieces are known to have survived. The dial silvered, blued steel spade hands, subsidiary seconds dial and sector with up-and-down from 0 – 54, hallmarked 1887, Casemakers stamp GJT (George James Thickbroom)
Gilded half plate movement with spring detent escapement, duo-in-uno hairspring, diamond endstone, free sprung bi-metallic screw balance, signed Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand, London, by appointment to the Queen, numbered 7323.
